Building Disciples Worldwide!

Our History

Cornerstone was launched in June of 1993 as the result of the vision
and commitment of seven key families. Those in the group were all active members
of Fellowship Bible Church in Bainbridge, Ohio and desired to see God establish
a similar kind of church in eastern Geauga County. Former missionaries to India
and Indonesia, Roger and Glenda Kruse were pleased to accept their call to serve
as the founding pastor and his wife.

After several months of planning, praying, fellowshipping and studying God’s
Word together this small nucleus along with 30 other believers began meeting
for Sunday morning worship at Camp Burton. Six weeks later Cornerstone changed
venues to the Berkshire High School, also in Burton where they continued to
meet for the next nine years. In March 2003 the church made the new Cardinal
Middle School in Middlefield its new church home.

Throughout these years Cornerstone has had a unique and distinct emphasis on
family ministry, effectively working among children and youth. Also CBC has
prioritized a missions ministry that has encompassed the world. In addition
to partnering with missionaries and national evangelist/church planters, Cornerstone
has sent out many of its own church family to impact people groups and nations
worldwide. Twenty-four percent of every dollar spent has gone toward fulfilling
the Great Commission!

In August of 2005, Cornerstone finalized the purchase of 40 acres in Burton
Township. A vision for an enlarged ministry here at home as well as overseas
began to take shape. The time for CBC to impact the surrounding communities
is now! A ministry known for reliable and practical Bible teaching along with
compassionate outreach to people in need is seeking to let its light shine for
Jesus. We pray that many lives will be transformed through the proclamation
and demonstration of the Good News.
